Speedback, David Brown's first Sport Car
A limited edition car with the latest cutting-edge technology
The Speedback was built based on the Jaguar XKR yet some details like the front windshields remind us of the Aston Martin's DB5 & DB6 models
If you dream of riding your dream car and yet cannot find any that fulfills your dreamy checklist, we've got your solution. It's the Speedback by David Brown.
Brown is a businessman, engineer and sports lover who could not find his fantasy car. He was looking for a car that combined the style of a classic sports car with the performance of a modern car. He finally decided to build his own car. This is how David Brown Automotive, the company that manufactures the Speedback, was born.
When it comes to looks, the Speedback draws inspiration from British tradition: both the interior and its engine are based on the Jaguar XKR. However some details, such as the front windshields, are more reminiscent of Aston Martin's DB5 and DB6 models. The speedback uses a V8 5.0 engine with a compressor 510 CV and an automatic transmission with six gears. This car has a performance of 248 km/h at top speed with 4.6 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h.
The chassis and the mechanics, as well as its high quality wood and leather finishings, are hand crafted by Land Rover's chief designer, Alan Mobberley, and his team.
The Speedback combines the magic of a classic car with the latest technology, making it unique in the market. The Speedback is produced in very limited quantities and its selling price is yet to be confirmed.
