The first sunrays reveal the intact beauty of the vast plains that surround you. Through the suite window an irresistible smell of freshly toasted bread and coffee hypnotises your senses, leading you to the terrace. A herd of giraffes walks by. Can you think of better company to enjoy your first sunrise in Kenya?

Onboard the private jet, you head to Rwanda. From high above, you can already see why this country is known as “Land of the a Thousand Hills.” As soon as you arrive, you quickly put on your boots when you hear that you’re going trekking with gorillas!

After two days with these interesting mammals it’s time to lower the rhythm. From Rwanda you head to Tanzania, where a team from Serengeti Under Canvas will take you to fly over the Serengeti National Park. The views will stay in your memory for a lifetime. This unique moment deserves an extraordinary breakfast with some Champagne.

Feel full of energy and ready for the day? Perfect! The 4x4s are already ready at the Ngorongoro crater for a day full of fun driving games.

On the different Okavango delta, Botswana and private hunting Phinda area destinations you’ll meet the Rhinos Without Borders initiative first hand, making you a part of their daily activities. But before, stop for the refreshing and majestic Victoria waterfalls in Zimbabwe.

It’s the perfect opportunity to immerse into the wildest natural territory. You’ll be guided by expert naturalists, politicians and activists who, in some way, are responsible for the changes in South African history and making the country what it is today. Also, you’ll enjoy the best dishes by the greatest chefs of each of the visited countries.

Small Groups  

One of the main benefits of this trip is that it is an exclusive adventure and very few people will be traveling with you. First category transports

International flights will be done on a private jet: Pilatus PC-12 model or similar, with high reliability and hosting up to six people. You will feel comfortable at all time thanks to your crew and your personal guide. Forget about waits at the airport or about picking up your luggage. Internal flights will be done via helicopter.

Signature experiences

You will have the opportunity to meet famous personalities that have had a significant role in African history. Most of them are actively involved in conservation projects that are still alive today, and that you will be able to learn about. Each activity includes dining experiences, breathtaking sceneries, and private chefs.

Experiences in protected areas

06th - 07th February / 20th-21st 2018 : Nairobi, Kenya

Upon landing in vibrant Nairobi, you will probably be hungry. Therefore, your guide during these days, Grant Telfer, will bring you to have breakfast. Get ready to enjoy a mouth-watering breakfast in the company of the nice giraffes living in Giraffe Manor. You will have the opportunity to touch their necks while they are looking for a reward. A fun moment to start feeling a connection with nature and getting surrounded by good company.

Location

Giraffe Manor is an exclusive hotel, set in 12 acres of private land within 140 acres of indigenous forest in the Langata suburb of Nairobi. As one of Nairobi’s most iconic buildings, Giraffe Manor has extraordinary appeal, that harks back to the 1930s when European visitors first flocked to East Africa to enjoy safaris. With its stately façade, elegant interior, verdant green gardens, sunny terraces and delightful courtyards, guests often remark that it’s like walking into the film Out of Africa.

The hotel has 10 rooms, all of them are different and offer a personalized decoration. These rooms are featured with elegant furnishings, art deco and four-poster beds. The three standard rooms have been named Betty, Lynn, and Arlene after filming the Out of Africa.  

Services

All guests will enjoy full board during their stay including all meals and the most of drinks (apart from champagne and imported wines). The hotel also offers a chauffeur service that is available to make tourist routes. There is also a masseuse, free WiFi and disabled access to Karen Blixen suite.

 

 

07th-09th February 2018 / 21st-23rd March 2018, Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda

Strap on your hiking boots for a once-in-a-lifetime private gorilla trekking experience and enjoy and afternoon gorilla photographic tutorial. Virunga volcanoes and the twin lakes of Bulera and Ruhonda, they are the perfect enclave to see the gorillas and the golden monkeys.

Virunga Lodge is set on an stunning hillside among the beautiful lakes of Ruhondo and Bulera. It offers awe-inspiring views Virunga Volcanoes and it is an exceptional location to comfort the threatened gorillas.

Has only ten bandas (wood huts made with papyrus and stone rooftop), that offer amazing views to Virunga volcanoes. Rooms have a bathroom, dresser, shower, mosquito net, 240 voltage and private terrace. Each of the rooms have been assigned a name that of the Virunga volcanoes’ mountain range. The lodge is a sanctuary to find quietness due to the fact is located in the town of Ruhengeri.

09th-11th February 2018 / 23rd-25rd March 2018: Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya

The third itinerary stop will be made at Maasai Mara, where the famous movie Out of Africa was filmed. Revive the last scene of this cinematographic. Go back to the last scene of this blockbuster hit and live the romance of the kenyan campsites of the 20’s and 30’s. You can also take advantage to make daily game drives, day and night, where you will be able to see The Big Five. Visit Africa Foundation with Simon Saitoti or Ernst Mgonho and, discover the projects of this non-profit organization in the local communities.

Location

For two nights you will be lodged at &Beyond Bateleur Camp located among the forests of Maasai Mara. Each of the elegant tends is a replica of the style and glamour of the african era. There are two camps and each of them has nine tents that guarantee a total level of privacy.  

Rooms

The elegant tents have their own terrace and they have views to the Maasai Mara plain. All of them have a bathroom with shower, wood floors and they are decorated with handmade furniture.

The lodge has a swimming pool, wifi and all tents have their own butler.

 

11th-14th February, 2018 / 25th-28th March: Serengeti National Park, Tanzania

Located in the border of Maasai Mara region, this luxurious semi permanent camp, &Beyond Serengeti Under Canvas, moves around the Serengeti National Park following the migration of the animals.

Rooms

There are two campsites distributed in 9 tents with a capacity for 18 people. Its privileged situation will allow to enjoy of an exceptional animal scene.

Even though you’ll be lodged in tents they are featured with a high range of services. The tents combine comfort with the authenticity of the African savanna. You will not realize there is no electricity neither running water because your personal butler will make sure nothing is missing. The tents are decorated in a luxurious african style with candelabrum, ceramic objets and silver, handmade Indian rugs and Russian teapots. Each tent has a living room and sofas that will allow you to enjoy the quietness of the surroundings.

The lodge offers a private butler service in each of its rooms. There is also WiFi in the suites and in the common areas, so you can always be connected. The excursions such as the game drives or the savanna walks are made according to your taste.   


14-16 Febrero / 28-30 Marzo 2018: Cráter Ngorongoro, Tanzania

16th-19th February/ 30th-2nd April 2018: Mnemba Island Zanzibar, Tanzania

Your adventure ends in the archipelago of Zanzibar, more precisely in Mnemba atoll located in the northeast coast of Unguja, the biggest isle of Zanzibar. The atoll has a small jewel called Mnemba. Its quietness and tranquility makes this island a very popular place to make diving their coral reefs. Occasionally, you can find turtles, dolphins and other marine animals. During your stay you will have the possibility to learn about the island’s significant marine conservation initiatives from Les Carlisle.

Located in the northeast coast of the island, in a conservation marine area, &Beyond Mnemba Island is a secret enclave on a first line beach.

There are 10 rooms called Banda Rooms located in front of the beach. This type of accommodation offers views to coral reefs and stunning backdrops.

The lodge puts at your disposal a variety of services such as diving school, activities to swim with dolphins or coral reef diving. Also, depending on the time of the year, you will have the opportunity to see the how the green turtles lay their eggs on the beach or see exotic animals such as the coconut crab.
