The sweet sound of the Thai forest fauna opens your eyelids after many hours of repairing sleep to the sight of a fairytale-like setting. As if awakening into a movie filmed in a distant land, you observe every detail of your very own Bird Nest. It is furnished with tribal designs with a hint of pragmatic contemporariness.
This rare nest is inspired in fictitious ancestral clans like the Rung-Nok, who were mainly astrologists, musicians and artists that used the terraces of nest-like homes to revive their souls. Samornpun and Tanapong Somnam, young entrepreneur siblings and owners of the Keemala Bird Nests, have carefully chosen this setting so that the peace from their local culture and environment is felt in every corner of the room and private hanging pool.
As you step out into your rainfall shower that outlooks exclusive views of the flora and fauna, you notice the Keemala gardens. Local herbs, fruits and vegetables like rose apple, coconut, ginger and turmeric are grown with the natural water resources provided in this eco-conscious paradise.
After grooming up, you enjoy a colorful and nutritious breakfast full of local fruit varieties in one of the open air dining rooms surrounded by woodland. Ready for a unique revitalizing experience at the Mala Holistic Spa, you both head off to your first traditional healing ritual of the week followed by yoga and a cooking class.
The sun’s intensity begins to fade when you return to your Bird Nest and find yourself admiring this rare suite, that seems to be suspended in the air amongst the high trees, once again. The predominant glass allows the remaining shy rays of light to make the room glow, revealing the details in the environment-friendly materials that have been used to construct this nest. Stepping out into the private nest pool, you dip in for a relaxing end of the day with the one you love.
An eco-conscious stay
At Keemala, every detail has been thought to preserve Mother Nature. Each Bird Nest has been constructed with materials that are respectful with the environment. The use of predominating glass in the suite’s construction allows natural light to illuminate the interior. Also, the gardens are watered with natural water resources and fertilized with organic waste. Even the cleaning service provided is eco-friendly and the products used are animal-testing-free. Keemala contributes with the NGO Keemala Green Club to clean the beaches of the area monthly.
Every Bird Nest hangs from the high rainforest treetops, almost as if they were floating in the midst of the jungle. These suites have been carefully built with eco-friendly material. The tribal deco is combined with a hint of contemporary and pragmatic touches to make your stay beyond comfortable. Keemala also offers three types of villas with innovative design: Clay Pool Cottages, Tent Pool Villas and Tree Pool Houses. The first stand out for their hay rooftops while the second ones reveal an oval shape. Lastly, the Tree Pool Houses blend in with nature thanks to their cone shaped architecture.
